Who We Are:
Crosswinds is a Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry of the United Methodist Church. There is a Wesley Foundation representation on most every university and college campus. Crosswinds is also an official Student Organization of the University of South Florida.

Our Purpose:
Crosswinds exists to show the loving kindness of Jesus to USF and beyond.
There is a scripture from the Bible found in 1 John 3:18, it reads, "Dear children let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth."
This verse is what guides all that we do on and off campus.

We acknowledge that Christians are stereotypically known for a whole lot of religious talk, but with little or no action behind it. At Crosswinds, we believe one of the most effective ways to help someone connect with Jesus is by allowing them to experience Jesus' love for them, through our random acts of kindness.

The Bible teaches that all people matter to God, so all people matter to us!!

Why Are You Involved With Crosswinds?
This generation has the opportunity to make a distinct mark on history. I want to be a part of growing them to know for themselves who is the Only Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Favorite Books: Ones with lots of pictures, big words, and not that many pages :-) Seriously, there are too many to mention, I read tons of books. The Bible is my favorite though :-)
Favorite Music: Again, to much to name, but at the end of the day my Ipod is filled primarily with songs that have a positive and uplifting message.
Family: Wife, Cher - Daughters, Kinsey (4) and Chelsea (1) - and Golden Retriever, Brody
Why Are You Involved With Crosswinds? When I was 20 and in college, even though I had grown up in church I was lost and confused with life.

Someone cared enough to introduce me to a personal Jesus unlike I had ever known growing up, and after reading the Gospels and talking to other Christians, I was overwhelmed with the need to live life for Love, be as decent and moral as I could be, vow to make a difference in the world, stop thinking about what I could take from the world and how much money I could make...and instead think about about what I could give and how I could help leave the world a better place....and most of all, I learned to let Jesus be who I modeled myself after and who I loved first and foremost.

Its amazing how that message had a profound effect on me and transformed me and my life in so many awesome ways. This generation is more confused than ever, and I found that treasure mentioned in Matthew 13 because someone led me to it - and I feel compelled to help others understand that which renewed my life.

Favorite Books: Pretty much anything by John Ortberg and Philip Yancey.
Favorite Music: I'm a child of the 80's and I make no apologies for it: Guns N Roses, Aerosmith, Spin Doctors, and AC/DC.
Family: My family consists of my wonderful wife Jennifer, and my outrageously cool son, Josiah. Jenn and I have been married for over 8 years, and Josiah is 3.

Why Are You Involved at Crosswinds? I believe that college graduates stand the greatest chance of actually changing the world in which we live. If they become genuine disciples of Jesus Christ, the world could literally be transformed. That's exciting to me…and that's why I serve at Crosswinds.

Favorite Books: Growing up I always loved the Chronicles of Narnia. The "Heart of Worship" files by Matt Redman has been an inspiration to my music ministry. Also, more recently, "They like Jesus But Not the Church" by Dan Kimball; "The Purpose Driven Church" by Rick Warren; "An Unstoppable Force" by Erwin McManus; and "Gracious Christianity" by Jacobsen & Sawatsky.
Favorite Music: I'm into just about anything that sounds great and is played with true musicianship, but some albums and bands I've recently been loving are: "Attention" by Kristian Stanfill, "Chris and Conrad," "Come Alive" by Mark Shultz, "Across the Earth: Tear Down the Walls" by Hillsong:United; "Today is the Day" by Lincoln Brewster, "Danyew"... too many more to add!
Family: I have two incredible parents (Vic and Cindy) and the best older brother (Jason) anyone could ask for.

Why Are You Involved at Crosswinds?

My involvement at Crosswinds has totally been orchestrated by God. I was asked to take this Worship Leading position at a time when I was just transitioning out of another music minstry and praying about where to go next. God put it strongly on my heart that Crosswinds was a ministry that was ready to grow exponentially and bring change in the lives of college students all over the area.

I absolutely wanted to be a part of this movement, and believed God had it planned for me, so here I am! Each and every week I see ways that God is moving at Crosswinds and causing hearts to grow close to His, in a very real way. I am honored and thankful for the opportunity to use the musical ability, that God has given me, here at Crosswinds!
